Web 2.0 for me - what does it mean?

Well I'm sitting here at home happily learning about blogging (albeit 2 weeks late!). I've tried at work and am continually blocked by intranet security and day to day library business. I'm quite happy to learn in my own time as the new knowledge will develop my skills and knowledge personally and professionally. My children fell about laughing when I told them I was doing the Web 2.0 program - somehow for someone my age to say "set up my own facebook account" was just too much for them!! I'll show them!

I have been keen to do the program ever since hearing Helene Blowers speak so enthusiastically and passionately about the benefits both personally and professionally of not only being aware of new communications technologies but embracing them. I look forward to learning about flickr, utube and the rest.......

I am keen to engage the young people in our area in the library, and like the idea of having a blog on the library website.
